HOLLYWOOD —
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce teamed up with the Hollywood Heritage Museum Tuesday night to celebrate Hollywood’s first feature film.
The Museum Building, known as “The Barn,” has been featured in many productions, beginning in 1914 with the western “The Squaw Man.”
“It’s the 100-year anniversary of the first feature-length motion picture made in the area known as Hollywood, which was made by the Lasky Feature Play Company, which later became Paramount Pictures,” said film historian Marc Wanamaker.
“The Squaw Man” was Cecil B. DeMille’s first film.
Tuesday night’s event helped raise awareness about the little museum tucked back but right across the street from the Hollywood Bowl.
